Cave paintings at Altamira(History, post 1)

So this is the first post for the History channel.Here we are going to talk about many things that happened in the past, and how humans have evolved into the modern day humans.

The Altamira cave complex, near Santander on the northern coast of Spain,Has a series of passages which extend to nearly 300m(984ft).This cave Comprises of some of the best works of the Stone Age,Cave art yet discovered.Though this cave along with its paintings were found in 1880, people thought that the cave art was fake, and took people 20 years to accept the fact that they are genuine.Though the earliest artist activity was around 35,000 years ago, some of the most famous pieces from that time,(Like the Bison Chamber) were created 22,000 years ago. The Bison chamber is the low ceiling which is covered with representations of animals, specifically lifelike images of bison, painted to perfection across undulations of the rocks, making it look 3D.
